SNX Project
Operator: Chevron
Location: West Africa Block 0

Block 0 concession is located offshore adjacent to the Cabinda coastline. The Block 0 concession comprises 21 fields, divided into two (2) exploration areas (and two major platforms) that consist of the following:

  • AREA A: fifteen (15) producing fields with net daily production of 53,000 barrels of crude oil and 2,000 barrels of liquefied petroleum gas;
  • AREA B: six (6) fields with a net average of 28,000 barrels of crude oil and condensate and 4,000 barrels of liquefied petroleum gas per day.

The Nemba Program is a development project at Nemba field, located in the Angola Block 0 concession.

This SNX (South Nemba Auxiliary) platform is an “un-manned” 4-pile jacket, multi-deck facility, bridge connected to the SNA platform. The facilities were installed in Area B of Block 0, south of the existing SNA platform complex, approximately 7.08 km southeast of other existing North Nemba (NNB) platform and will include a flare boom, helideck, oil processing train, gas compression, and dehydration equipment, electrical power generation, and other associated equipment. The oil processing train includes a two-phase intermediate-pressure separator, a three-phase low-pressure separator, and an oil degasser. Compression equipment includes a surge gas compressor and an intermediate-pressure compressor. The purposes of the SNX platform are:

  • Reception and processing of SNA oil;
  • Gas Compression for reservoir re-injection or CRX pipeline (inlet at SNA platform) to Angola LNG;
  • Flaring Reduction.

Nemba field is a large field with proven reserves and resource base having combined oil in place of approximately 1.1 billion barrels.
